SAWKR 2022 Wrap-Up

The South Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta was a great success! Hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia (CYCSA) over the recent October long weekend, the State’s first all-women regatta was enthusiastically supported by local sailors and sailing communities, notably PASC and RSAYS, and drew on competitors from around the state and across the borders.

SheSails steering the course and setting records!

The 2022 SheSails Conference webinar event was a blockbuster with over 250 participants dialling in from sailing clubs across Australia & New Zealand; breaking last year’s record to become the largest SheSails gathering to date!

SheSails National Finalists Announced

The SheSails Award was introduced in 2018 and recognises an individual, group, class or club that makes an outstanding contribution, promotion and/or administration of female participation in sailing. Chosen from amongst the winners of the category in each state, three National SheSails finalists for the 2022 Australian Sailing Awards have been announced for their contributions to sailing.

Fast boats program thriving in Northern NSW

There are many possible ways to encourage women to try out and continue to participate in the sport of sailing. The Richmond River Sailing and Rowing Club, in the small Northern NSW town of Ballina has discovered a unique and highly successful way to do that. And not to just introduce women into the sport of sailing and keep them there, but in the process, coach them to participate at the highest and most exciting levels of the sport.

Women skippers get behind 50th 'Westcoaster'

Seasoned and respected women sailors are among those signed up to compete in the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria's (ORCV) 50th Melbourne to Hobart Yacht Race - or 'The Westcoaster', known to most starts at midday on 27 December 2022.

Another huge success for the 2022 NT Womens Regatta

With 54 women on the water, including 5 from Gove and 20 interstate sailors, 6 Elliott 7 teams battled it out Round Robin style and our small but competitive open mixed fleet raced around Fannie Bay and into the harbour with a mix of around the cans and harbour courses.

BYS Women's Sportsboat Regatta – Entry Open!

Organisers at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron are pleased to announce a new premier event for female sailors with entry now open for the BYS Women’s Sportsboat Regatta, to be held 19 and 20 of November 2022.

NSW Office of Sport Her Sport Her Way Grant

Australian Sailing has been successful in securing a grant of $48,250 from the NSW Office of Sport Her Sport Her Way Grant program for our SheSails Youth Leadership Growth Project.
