First entry received for 2023 Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta

With destination regattas and and travel back in full swing, Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron (RMYS) is looking forward to hosting a large entry for the 31st Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta (AWKR), to take place over the King’s Birthday weekend of 9-12 June - and the first entrant has already booked her spot.

Portland Yacht Club Wins Women's Participation Initiative of the Year

Portland Yacht Club’s Britta Baade has seen women’s confidence on the water flourish through its SheSails program. The program was recognised at the 2023 South West Community Sports Awards on Wednesday night, with the club awarded women’s participation initiative of the year. Baade said the award meant a lot to the club and for women’s sailing in general.

Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club (QCYC) is gearing up for its annual Queenscliff Cup and Commodore’s Trophy regatta to be contested over the Easter weekend 8-10 April 2023, an inclusive event, providing five races in an Open Division (Division 1) for the Queenscliff Cup with the additional opportunity for female regatta crew to take the helm for two designated races to contest the Commodore’s Trophy (Division 2) within the race schedule.

On Wednesday 8 March, the world will celebrate International Women’s Day and Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC), through its Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Harbour Regatta this weekend, celebrates all those women contesting the regatta, taking part in the on-water race management roles and those ashore who have administration roles.
