Light conditions made for some spectacular spinnaker runs under grey Melbourne skies in the rescheduled Shirley Freeman race held at the Hobson’s Bay Yacht Club on Sunday 25th April. It’s great that we’ve been able to run four of the five races in the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series so far given the challenges of Covid lockdowns and weather cancellations.

Teamwork and practice were reported to be the key to success in the Women in Sailing Challenge (WISC) at Sandringham Yacht Club on Sunday March 21st. Fluky winds varying from 10-25 knots swinging 50 degrees up and down and intermittent drizzle made for challenging conditions in the third day of racing in the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series for 2021.

Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series finally gets underway!

Port Phillip Women's Championship Series finally got underway this Sunday for the closely contested Val Hodge Trophy at RYCV. There were smiles all round as women sailors took to the water on Port Phillip on Sunday, many racing for the first time since March 2020 on a beautiful sunny, late summer’s day in Melbourne.

Fair winds & clear sky make perfect Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series race

It was a spectacular day on Sydney Harbour for Race 3 of the Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series (SHWKS). A crisp 10-15 knot sou-sou-easterly breeze combined with a beautiful clear sky and warm 25-degree temperature made perfect sailing conditions for the 16-strong fleet.
