Enter Now – BYS Women’s Sportsboat Regatta

Join us for the highly anticipated BYS Women’s Sportsboat Regatta, hosted by the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron on the picturesque waters of southern Port Philip on March 16th and 17th, 2024.

Returning for its thrilling second edition, the BYS Women’s Sportsboat Regatta sets the stage for a riveting display of sportsboat fleet racing, proudly led by female sailors.

Say goodbye to ownership barriers as competitors take to the water aboard provided J/70s, engaging in sprint-series-style racing with on-water umpiring ensuring close racing and fair play. With twelve coveted team entries up for grabs and six J/70s at the ready, teams will swap boats for each adrenaline-fueled race session.

Last year’s inaugural event drew ten impressive entries, including teams travelling from Sydney (RYPA and RSYS), as well as local contenders from Blairgowrie and around Port Philip Bay.

Prepare to be inspired at Saturday’s ‘Sailing Dreams’ dinner, where distinguished guest speakers will share their remarkable journeys to sailing success and fulfilling dreams. Our last regatta dinner featured the theme ‘Sailing Journeys’ with guest panellists Olympian Karyn Gojnich, Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club Commodore Lee Renfree and Australian Sailing Squad member Laura Harding, and was MCed by Jenni Maclean, past Australian Sailing board member and past BYS Commodore.

We’ll be announcing our exciting line up of speakers shortly, however tickets for non-competitors are on sale now.

The Notice of Race, entry link and additional information are available on the regatta page

The BYS Women’s Sportsboat Regatta proudly champions the Australian Sailing SheSails pathway, celebrating the spirit and prowess of Women and Girls in sailing.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the action!
