Women and girls continue to face a range of barriers to participating in sport, often rooted in gender inequity. The Sail Our Way Participation Grant Program, an initiative of Australian Sailing and funded through a successful grant from the Department of Health and Aged Care, aims to change that—supporting clubs and class associations to create safe, inclusive and welcoming environments where women and girls can thrive in sailing.
Sailing clubs and class associations can apply for up to $1,500 (ex GST) to run projects that increase participation, boost representation in leadership and coaching roles, and help foster a club culture that values and respects women and girls from all backgrounds.
We strongly encourage participation initiatives that support women and girls from:
- Low socio-economic backgrounds
- Culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Regional and remote areas
- LGBTQ+ communities
- People with disability
Whether you're planning a women’s SheSails Discover Sailing Day, women only sailing course, or a workshop, we want to hear your ideas! Only one application per affiliated club or class association is permitted. Clubs are encouraged to speak to their Local Club Support Officer before applying.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
Details about future rounds will be posted here in the coming months.
