With a packed calendar of events taking place across Australia, October offers plenty of opportunities to get involved through Sail Our Way and SheSails. Whether you're looking to try sailing for the first time, develop your racing skills or connect with other women on the water, there’s something happening for every stage of your sailing journey.

Here’s what’s coming up this October:

Fri 2 – Sun 4 October 2026 | Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta 2026

Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, NSW | 6:00pm Friday – 9:00pm Sunday

The Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta returns to Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron for a weekend dedicated to helping women explore, participate in and thrive in competitive keelboat sailing. Combining coaching, mentoring and racing, the event aims to build confidence, develop skills and support sailors across all aspects of racing.

Divisions are available for all-female crews and female helms with mixed crews across both yacht and One Design fleets. The weekend also includes social activities and concludes with the Women Celebrating Sailing Dinner and presentation on Sunday evening.

Sat 3 – Mon 5 October 2026 | South Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta

Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, SA

The South Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta returns across the October long weekend, bringing together women from across Australia for three days of racing, skill development and connection.

Hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia in partnership with Port Adelaide Sailing Club and the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron, the regatta aims to build women’s participation, skills, leadership and pathways in sailing. Racing is held across both Gulf St Vincent and the protected waters of Yartapuulti (Port River), with the event welcoming sailors across a range of experience levels.

Sun 4 October 2026 | Sail Our Way Discover Sailing Sundays

Sandy Bay Sailing Club, TAS | 10:00am – 12:30pm

Girls aged 10–18 are invited to give sailing a go at Sandy Bay Sailing Club as part of its Sail Our Way Discover Sailing Sunday’s program.

No previous sailing experience is needed, with participants introduced to sailing basics, safety, rigging, launching and retrieving a boat before getting out on the water. Experienced instructors, safety equipment and sailing dinghies are provided, with the session designed to build confidence and help participants explore the next steps in their sailing journey.

Sat 17 October 2026 | Discover Sailing Day

Midway Point Yacht Club, TAS | 9:00am – 6:00pm

Midway Point Yacht Club is hosting a Sail Our Way event designed to introduce women and girls to sailing in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The day provides an opportunity for participants to experience sailing and discover what the club has to offer, with Midway Point Yacht Club also looking to support those interested in continuing their sailing journey through further opportunities in the weeks following the event.

Sun 18 October 2026 | Middle Harbour Yacht Club Women’s Regatta

Middle Harbour Yacht Club, NSW | 11:00am – 5:00pm

The Middle Harbour Yacht Club Women’s Regatta returns to Sydney Harbour, with the passage race forming part of the Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series.

Open Keelboat divisions are available for all-female crews and mixed crews with a female helm and at least 30% female crew, alongside One Design divisions for a range of classes. Racing begins with two short windward-leeward races from 11:00am, followed by a passage race starting at 1:00pm across Sydney Harbour and The Sound.

After racing, sailors are invited back to the club for drinks, nibbles and the presentation of prizes.

Sun 25 October & Sun 15 November 2026 | Sunday ‘Sail Our Way’

Cairn Curran Sailing Club, VIC | 10:00am – 4:00pm

Cairn Curran Sailing Club is inviting women, girls and the wider community to take part in its Sunday Sail Our Way program, offering a supported and social introduction to dinghy sailing at the regional club.

Across the sessions, participants will be introduced to sailing basics and safety, learn how to rig, launch and retrieve a boat, and put their new skills into practice on the water. Experienced instructors, sailing dinghies and safety equipment are provided, along with lunch and an opportunity to learn more about pathways to continue sailing.

Participants can attend either session or join both.
