What’s On in April — Sail Our Way

April is a great time to get on the water, enjoy the cooler autumn conditions, and focus on learning new skills before winter. Whether you’re stepping aboard for the first time, honing your racing tactics, or joining a structured training program, Sail Our Way offers a range of opportunities for women and girls across the country this April.


Sat 11 & Sat 25 April 2026 | Women & Girls Sailing Day
Black Rock Yacht Club, VIC | 9:00am – 12:00pm

Join a fun and supportive morning on the water designed to build confidence for women and girls. Experienced sailors will be on hand to guide participants, whether you’re learning basic sailing skills or just looking to feel more comfortable on the water. Connect with others, have fun, and feel empowered on the boat and around the water.

Wed 15 April – Sun 2 August 2026 | KISS Women’s Training Program

Take your first steps toward becoming an active participant in keelboat sailing with the Keelboat Introduction to Sailing Savvy (KISS) program. Over four months, you’ll build confidence, learn new skills, and join a welcoming team environment, perfect for women looking to transition from passenger to crew.

Sat 18 April 2026 | 2026 South Australia Women’s Match Racing Championship
Cruising Yacht Club of SA, North Haven SA | 9:00am – 6:00pm

Sharpen your tactical skills, teamwork, and confidence in this fast-paced match racing regatta. Women with basic sailing experience will learn strategy and race-winning decision-making aboard performance Elliott 7 yachts, guided by renowned coach Lesley Jean Roberts. A fantastic opportunity to develop as a skipper in a supportive environment.

South Gippsland Yacht Club, VIC | 10:00am – 4:00pm

South Gippsland Yacht Club is hosting a free Sail Our Way event to encourage women and girls of all experience levels to get on the water. Run by local women, the day offers a welcoming, supportive environment to try sailing, learn new skills, and connect with the sailing community.

Sun 26 April 2026 | SheSails Discover Sailing Day
Wynnum Manly Sailing Club, QLD | 10:00am – 3:00pm

Step aboard and explore sailing in a fun, relaxed environment at Wynnum Manly Sailing Club. Women of all ages can get on the water for a sail, enjoy a drink on the club’s beautiful terrace overlooking the harbour, and meet new people. This hands-on day is a perfect way to experience sailing, connect with the community, and discover everything your local club has to offer. A free SailPass is available for the event, making it easy to give sailing a go.
