Shape of Wind is a cinematic short film following a mother and daughter’s journey with sailing, tracing the people, places and moments that have shaped their connection to the water. Featuring sailors Greta Carroll, George Byass and Ella Murphy, the film explores how knowledge, confidence and freedom on the water can be passed from one generation to the next.

The film has been brought to life by Director Micha Alon, who has led the creative vision, working alongside Australian Sailing, the team at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and the wider cast and crew.

Olympic gold medallist and highly respected coach Belinda Stowell OAM has also played an important role in the project, contributing to an advisory capacity alongside a number of voices from the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club community, including Ashlie Duffield, Angus Cameron and Nia Jerwood.

The release of Shape of Wind will be supported by a wider rollout across Australian Sailing and SheSails channels, alongside opportunities for sailing clubs and communities to share the film with their own audiences.

The story behind Shape of Wind will also take centre stage at the 2026 SheSails International Conference, with producer Micha Alon and featured sailor Greta Carroll joining the speaker line-up on Monday 19 October at 7pm (AEDT).
